I got this ball around Christmas time as a gift to myself, and needless to say, its the best gift I''ve got in years. When this piece arrived at the pro-shop, I was concerned that it was stronger than advertised based on all the reviews it was getting on here. We went with a tamer drilling as I was looking for a ball to cover medium-light to medium oil. The ball had a 3-4" pin and 2 1/4 ounces of top weight. We decided on a 5 1/2 pin to PAP with the CG kicked in towards my midline. Here''s a picture when it was all said and done.
http://tinypic.com/r/5dngvk/6When I took this ball out for a test run, man did it impress me. Even with the tamer drilling, the ball still made a big move, and definitely served more as a medium oil benchmark ball than a medium-light piece. It can carry from all sorts of angles, but what impresses me the most is how well this ball craves the inside angles. When my other equipment starts hitting flat because I''m too far inside this ball just still turns the corner and puts all ten in the pit. It keeps pins low to the deck and it really doesn''t cause loud explosive strikes, which I like because I seem to trip more light shots than normal with that type of hit. For a pearl it seems to be pretty rolly for me, but when I hit those wet/dry lane conditions this thing really makes a turn for me. All in all, this ball is worth every penny you put into it.
I''m considering picking up one or two more of these bad boys. I''m convinced you could cover just about anything but the Shark with two of these albeit drilling and surface prep. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.
