Anyone else have issues with Full Swing cover death? 50 games and ball is dead.

How often did you maintain it and what did you use?

Sir Bowl
Used power house cleaner after every use. Have done a hook again treatment, which regained minimal ball motion, faded after two games. Put it in a rejuvinator machine, regained more ball motion than the hook again but that also faded to nothing after 6 to 8 games.

Leave it in longer. Some absorb oil faster and need extra extraction cycles.

In addition to an everyday cleaner after each use and before returnign the ball to its bag, also use Clean and Dull after every 3-4 outings. It is a very good deep cleaner and will help draw out some oil from the cover.

Also have you refreshed the cover?
50 games is too long for a sensitive surface like P4000 grit. By the way, do you know if it''s one of those new 500/4000 grit surfaces or a standard 500/1000/2000/4000 grit surface?

Thanks for the input. Will try the rejuvinator once more for a longer session. As far as surface prep I have tried everything combination imaginable. Basically wondering about other peoples experience good or bad with this cover. Maybe mine is an isolated incidence.

Any time you get a strong ball and cover, they have to absorb oil at a quick rate. These covers are very aggressive, and need a good deal of maintenance. We find that putting balls in our Revivor until the ball stops bleeding, then using a resurfacing machine to resurface the ball (180, 360, 500, 1000, 2000, then 4000 Abralon) will bring back most of the performance...If all else fails, move a little right

i had the same issue. only problem is i had it from the start. box finish it was a great ball for shorter patterns. a 1000 grit it was a okay ball to burn up a spot with. cause this ball flare a lot. drilled 45*5*30 and with around 500 rpm this ball is pretty straight. unless there is a defined hook spot ie shorter patterns this ball is a no go.

With so many topics about ball death it should have its own column. I see too many posts on this site that after 50 or so games my ball died, for me that's when the ball is broken in. Tim from Buddies is correct these balls need maintenance to perform well. Some bowlers just have no clue about this or grasp the understanding
