Title: Tour Trials Day #3
Post by: J_L_B on June 02, 2006, 10:23:53 AM
Scorpion Pattern - 41ft.

I really didn't know what to expect from this pattern since it has played so many different ways the few times I have bowled on it. I decided to skip the practice session and just watch a few choice bowlers as to where they were playing. Looked as though the outside line was the best place to be and I took that as the place to play going into this morning.

I used the Action for the first 5 games playing down the boards around 5 or 6.I had some room right as long as my ball speed wasn't too firm. I shot 229, 266, 217 the first 3 which ended up accounting for my entire day's plus score.

After the first 5 games I moved around a bit trying out the UTPP and the Jinx, couldn't find anything consistent and got lucky to pull out 200+ games. One bad game in between changing balls and indecision about which line to play.  Game 7 and 8  when I went back to the Action to salvage two more 200 games. Last game I used the UTPP playiing about 18 to 8 to salvage a 213.

Overall +118 for the day with really no great ball reaction the last 4 games. Tomorrow's another day and if the last 3 days are any precursor to how the lanes will play, I will most likely be using an outside line.
