Considering buying Columbia....looks for advice...
« on: June 04, 2006, 12:21:16 PM »
I'm thinking of buying several Columbia 300 bowling balls. I would like some advice on a good arsenal. My thinking is along these lines....Action for heavy, Action Packed for medium/heavy, a Jinx for light to medium, I have the Blue Dot for spares....that leaves medium,  and perhaps dry lane to figure out. Any ideas?

Heavy: Action or maybe the EPX if I can get it at a reduced price....
Medium/Heavy/: Action Packed
Medium...?
Medium/Light: Jinx?
Dry: ?
Spares: Blue Dot

Thanks,
Chuck

Hey I just noticed that Columbia took the EPX-T1 off of their website.  Must be discontinued?

IMHO, I'd choose a Power Drive Sanded over an EPX T1.  That's an easy choice.

Heavy: Action or Power Drive Sanded
Med:   Action Packed/WrathXP
Med/Light: Wrath/HyJinx
Light: Jinx

These can be swithed around pending on your personal needs.

Action Packed is excellent benchmark ball. Great on a variety of conditions if you can vary your release.
The STS is also coming. Watch for it.

FWIW, "STS" will be a coverstock, not a ball.  To this point, the Wrath series is the first to utilize the "STS" coverstock.

I would agree 100% with Joe.

Heavy: Action or Power Drive Sanded
Med: Action Packed/WrathXP
Med/Light: Wrath/HyJinx
Light: Jinx

Very amature bowler. Not wealthy. Addicted to bowling balls. I was just thinking about Columbia...sometime in the future perhaps, that's all. AS to the rest of my collection....well...it's too much but....at least it's not illegal!

What Chuck really needs is a proshop person to spend a little time with him and diagnose his needs.  However, since they're punching out new pills purchased by him by the dozen, the pro shop owner has probably instructed the employees to simply punch out his ball and wait 36 hours for him to come back with another pill.
