Compare the Dr, Jekyll with the Panic
« on: March 19, 2006, 02:41:53 AM »

Could someone who has used or seen both, tell me which of these would be the strongest ball on dryer conditions?

I am presently using a Hyde and I understand that the Dr. Jekyll is a pearl version of that ball.

Any help would be appreciated.

According to Columbia's ball comparison feature, the Panic should be just a little earlier and stronger.  Probably not enough of a difference to justify owning both.

Haven't seen the Dr. Jekyl, but my Panic definitely holds it's own when the lanes are bone dry. I can okay straight down 10 and it will hook right to the pocket.

I've used both, and for the the Jekyll was a lot more skid flip while the Panic was smoother reacting.  Generally I play outside, so if the lanes were over/under with toast on the outside, I could move in and throw the Jekyll from the middle to the dry outsides and have it bounce back.  If the lanes were still pretty even, then I could use the Panic to have a more dependable arc into the pocket.

Of course its how they are drilled, but thats how I used'em.
