It's a particle.. Its a great ball for 40 games, after 40 games it becomes useless and hits like a pillow.

channel surfer is a child . . . born in the immediate gratification age, and unaware of ball cleaning and maintenance techniques . . .

the icon2 is possibly columbia's best ball ever, and i would highly recommend this ball.  i've thrown mine for well over 250 games, and the ball still has an excellent reaction.

take care of your equipment, and it will take care of you . . .

hey, surfer . . . love ya, babe!!!

You must not come to this site often.

I use Simple Green on all my equipment. Everyone knows that the Icon 2 USUALLY dies after X amount of games.. regardless on how much you clean it. Check older posts and the c300 boards.

It's particle.

Some of Columbia's partcles are known to be short lived (Chaos + Rock series), but very few people have had problems with their newer stuff.  I've seen plenty of them last a bunch of games, so maybe Channel Surfer got a bad one.

Dont get me wrong. I love this ball, well, while it lasted that is. I even threw my first 300 with it.

Now that I have about 400+ games on it, it does not hit has hard has it use to. Even my dad said that this ball was starting to hit like a marshmellow. I even put it in the hook again twice, I saw no increase in the performance. So im screwed basically.

I loved it while it lasted.

LoL,  surfer, you just said the ball is great for 40 games, then hits like a pillow in your first post.  Then in your second post, you said your ball now has over 400 games on it, and it hits like a pillow.  Gee, thats only a difference of 360 GAMES.  400 games is more than its money's worth, especially nowadays.  Perhaps you should re-evaluate your original post my friend.

I must have misworded it.

The ball reacted great with long length, and a huge backend for about 40 games. After that, the ball still hit rather hard but did not have that huge backend that it use to. Now that its around the 400 game barrier, it still hooks the same as it did when it died, but it has no carry. My dad even noticed a decrease in carry, and he now refers to the ball as a "P.O.S."

I would like to find a ball to replace it. I was thinking the Detour or Formula.
