this ball... looks freakin sweet going down the lane... have it drilled pin below bridge with cg kicked an inch... gets through the heads very clean and has a nice kick on the backend... doesnt have the same core as the detour its kinda inverted... not totally sure... its different though .... havent really broken it in yet but i am taking it to junior world team challenge so im hopin i will get my chance to use it... we will see though... it was kinda over under tonight on a ths... but im sure on something more blended it will work awesome... and on a broken down sport shot it will be money... but we will see... i thought the whole time it was going to be a pearl detour but... different core and it does hae the pearl superflex... so we will see how they match up with everyone... thats all for now

Very interesting, have not seen U turn block pictures.
But I've had a friend with Formula. VERY even...almost no pop!
Detour very flippy for a solid.
I've found that in general when I have a flip block on bottom(ie Formula) I get MORE flip than if same block has flip block on top.
I can only conclude that the alterations to Detour flip block were there(my eye does not see Formula weightblock looking like Detour exactly) left the block with less flip and also that the coverstock had a large effect in making the formula so smooth.
Maybe the Detour block was too much on a reactive pearl. Put the Formula block in and voila!?

It looks like it's the same weight block thats in the Formula, stair step top core with bottom flip block. Check it out

Got to watch our Columbia Staffer throw his U-Turns in Nashville Friday and I was impressed. Balls are very versatile. He threw them on about 5 different lines and put about 5-6 different hand positions on them and they responded well to those changes and didn't have any cover-overreaction. Overall I would say that they will be a good addition to anyone's arsenal and definitely would make a good start to someone who didn't have one to begin with.

LOL sorry

u-turn pearl is great.... clean through the heads on sport shots and still has energy in the back for a nice pop... a great addition for a ball to be playing tight inside or up the boards to have some great pop on the back... used it all weekend and JWTC

1) I WILL BOWL MY BEST
2) I WILL HAVE FUN

I see description of U turn particle and it sure sounds a lot like Formula.
The little I have seen of formula is that it was much like the U turn Particle is described.... a ball for over under. A very smooth controlled backend move.
Your thoughts for those who have seen both or are in the know?

The Formula was a low load particle ball (Vaccine). UFO particle is more aggressive.

True, but on C300's site it says total hook 50 oil25 dry25 for both the u trun particle and the formula.
So does the new U-trun just give a different look on the lane or what?

u turn = superflex pearl
formula = vaccine particle
just because they get the same rating doesnt mean it is the same... u turn is cleaner through the heads with a more defined turn at the breakpoint

they are talking about the u-turn particle, which is ufo cover, and they are similar, but as i see it the u-turn particle is more aggressive in oil, i never pay attentioin to their hook ratings, i just look at cover, core, rg, and diff.
