U-Turn?
« on: March 04, 2005, 02:20:28 PM »
I know I make these threads all the time, though this one may have some more viable proof behind it. I heard a month back, approximately, that columbia was going to come out with a U Turn. And as of now I noticed it was on the approved list...So I am curious is there any information about this ball? Overseas Release? Etc...

it was going to be one or the other.. either the overdrive or the u-turn.... they obviously made the lame choice of putting out the overdrive... when all you really need to do is put some surface on the drive and it is basically the same thing.... should have come out with the u-turn because a pearl detour would have been sweet.... columbia just wont learn what is good and whats not.... like their midline is way better than the high line.... nuff sed

My "wonderment" is, if the Detour is already an emulation of the Messenger Ti pearls, as many people have already suggested (and they were considered a typical resin pearl: very skid/flip in most people's hands), how skid/flip would a pearlized Detour then be? Equal to an Ego, maybe, already a strong skid/flip, medium-light to light oil PEARLIZED ball?
If any of the above assumptions is remotely true, of what use would a pearlized Detour be, then??

(Honest questions; not trying to jerk anyone's chain here.)

the detour is one of columbias best bowling balls... to give it a bit more length with more flip would be awesome... so when the detour starts to roll up too early a pearl version can be ulled out to get down the lane with a similar read and roll and same hitting power.... that is my point of view.... the detour is a truck and a pearl version of it would be insanely awesome... especially it being a strong midline pearl.... :-D
