Hi everyone,
As promised in my initial review thread:
(First Impressions of the U-Turn Particle Pearl -
http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Replies.asp?TopicID=117096&ForumID=3&CategoryID=2)
I took the ball out for a spin on Sunday 03/05/06 and put about 2 1/2 games on it to accustomed to it a bit.
Layout4 1/2 x 4 5/8 (No Weight Hole)
Pin sits under ring finger (About 1 3/4 above midline) and CG shifted to the right a pinch.
Playing Surface & Lane Condition20 year old wood lanes with a medium oil crown type shot. More oil in the middle and tapered towards the gutter. Pattern wasn't too long, but the oil in the middle gave the impression that it was (xmas or crown patterns seem to give me that impression or fool me until I see the shorter oil laid out outside! hehe).
What the ball didWell, for a particle pearl, I really like the reaction of the ball so far.
On this House Pattern, Gets great push up front for a pearl, reads the mids decently for a particle and has great recovery in the back. Backend reaction on this crown shot was an arc type reaction or got a little angular if it sniffed some dry a little earlier. I was also impressed by the continuation through the pindeck. I left a few ten pins but the carry was more than satisfactory.
On to the VideoAlright enough with the jibber-jabber, here's a link to the video below. Sorry for some of the grainy quality, I'm using the old version of Windows Media Player.
