Columbia On ESPN
« on: October 26, 2005, 02:23:38 AM »
Columbia Industries is pleased to announce the appearance of
its products on Cold Pizza, ESPN2, at approximately 9:23 am EST Wednesday,
October 26.  Part of the segment of bowling technology, the Columbia 300 EPX T1 and the Track Rule Delta 1 will be featured in the high performance category. The EPX T1 will be used to demonstrate the speedy absorption of lane oil, which results in a greater amount of friction with the lane surface.  The Rule Delta 1 will be showcased in the section relating to the effects of an asymmetric core design and its migration to a stable axis when spun.  "Columbia Industries is honored to be chosen to represent the technological faction of the bowling industry in this segment", states Brian Pursel, VP of Marketing.  "Cold Pizza has a strong following and the exposure for bowling is huge".  The segment will also feature Vis-a-Balls for the recreational side and Etonic shoes.

Good day for Columbia.  Barnes loses to Jones and Wolfe makes a TV show the first tournament not being on staff.  Oh and don't forget Jones beating Malott.  Yes a good day for Columbia

I would say it was a great tournament overall for Columbia. To have two staff guys make one show says alot, regardless of the results on the show. Remember they were bowling in an arena setting, not the lanes where the whole tournament was staged.

Besides, Tommy is going to beat anyone with his reaction and the way he's bowling right now. It's not like Malott bowled a bad game, but when someone goes front 10 on you, what are you supposed to do?

Barnes looked like he was using the Action just to use it and not cause it gave him the best reaction. Looked to me like it burned up too soon and lost hit whereas Tommy was going with a bigger angle and more skid-snap type attack.

Either way you look at, I'm sure alot of ball companies would love to have 2 guys on any given show, let's give some props to Columbia for getting it done the first week.

Quite sure.  100% sure.  Neither was using a Power Drive.  Both were using an Action.  If the ball looked blue/white and not purple/white, you probably need to adjust your TV

Actually, it looked like Barnes was a very Dark Blue/White, and Malott looked like it was purple/white. I figured that Barnes was using a Power Drive too. But then again, I wasn't 100% sure what the action was supposed to look like, so I didn't know what Malott was throwing (since I HIGHLY DOUBT you'd see a color blem Power Drive on national TV)!
