What kind of coverstock does the Power Drive Sanded have?
« on: February 23, 2006, 07:40:28 AM »
I have been wondering what kind of coverstock the Power Drive Sanded has. In the BJI (Bowler's Journal International) they say it's a reactive. In other magazines they say it's particle. Can someone please give me more info about the Vaccine coverstock?

Light-load particles tend to have a very reactive, uhh, reaction.  They don't react quite like typical particle balls, with an early, very gradual reaction.  They tend to go a little longer than most particle balls, don't burn up as easily as typical particle balls (which, these days, is not nearly as problematic), with a little more angular move at the breakpoint, just like solid reactives with similar surfaces.

Many people like light-load particles specifically for that reason.  They get a little of the traction of particle if there's a fair bit of oil up front, but entry angle like reactives.
