I'm a senior bowler and I just dropped to 14 lb. equipment. My question is, can someone with slower speed handle the Wicked b/r/t? I've read that its a real skid-snap type ball and needs some oil in the heads. Is it a lot stronger than the Messenger Ti Pearl? How about the new Throttle R?
Any help would be appreciated.

The original Wicked the blue and oyster colored one was much more skid/snap; the new one, the B/R/T is significantly more even in its ball reaction. In fact, I think you'd generally have to polish it and drilit for skid/snap to get that reaction.

I agree. I would not consider the blue wicked as "skid/snap", though. It is definitely heavier in its roll, though. The Throttle/R would definitely be more skid/snap than either of the Wickeds. The Wicked b/r/t is not going to be as aggressive as the Throttle/R on the backend. The Wicked will be much smoother than the Throttle/R. The Wicked will roll a little sooner. It just will not be flippy at the breakpoint.

Also, the Messenger Ti Pearl is more of a skid snap ball than the either of the Wickeds. What are you looking for? Skid snap or smooth roll?

I'm looking for a ball with a hard snap on the backend. The only 14 lb. ball I have now is an Ebonite
Savage Pearl. Its ok for light oil but is hard to send wide unless the backends are fairly dry.
What I hope to get is something in a Columbia ball with more skid/snap than the Savage Pearl. I have
not seen anyone using the Throttle-R yet but I have watched one of the local bowlers using the blue
Wicked and he's getting a good snap on the backend and great carry on light and heavy hits. I also
haven't seen the new Wicked being used in my area.

well I'm 14 and use the wicked rbt ang it's definetly not a skid-snap for me. I throw a 16lb ball ang I'm a stroker. I think this ball is not what you want if you really want a skid-snap but for lower ball speed you can play about the 8 board and to the 4/5 board and get decent reaction.

The Wicked b/r/t will be much smoother than the Throttle-R which is very flippy. Both can handle medium oil (maybe a little more) for slower ball speed. Both balls would be a nece step above the Ti Messenger Pearl.

If you're talking about the original Wicked, it has some snap on the backend but not overly flippy. I throw about 14-14.5 MPH and it gives me no problems. Mine has the gloss knocked off a little bit giving it a slightly earlier roll and a need for more than light oil in the head area. As far as compared to the Ti-Pearl Messenger, the Wicked does not clear the heads as easy and does not snap on the backend as hard as the Ti-Pearl. I have both of those ball drilled similiar and use the Wicked when the lanes don't have real clean back ends.
