Blue Dot
« on: March 22, 2011, 08:12:11 AM »
Is the current blue dot still harder than the white dot?  Also do the  new blue dots still have blue pins or are the pins a different color now.  Are there any major differences between the current and old blue dot?

The current Blue Dots are the same hardness as the White Dots but they're less elastic, similar to the way pearlized resin balls are less elastic than solid resin balls but the same hardness.

The old Blue Dot was both harder than the White Dot and less elastic.

When my old, original San Antonio -based Columbia300 Blue Dot died, I went with a Storm Ice Storm.

FYI The Brunswick Viz-a-balls are the hardest, least hooking balls, of which I am aware, but they cannot be sanded like many polyester balls because you will sand off the color and have an all white ball. A friend has had a Coca-Cola Viz-A-Ball for 4 years now, and while it looks really bad and ugly, it hooks like new, almost nothing. The fingers finally cracked and he bought a new polyester ball.
