Rvial and Momentum
« on: February 03, 2008, 01:23:57 PM »
what is the difference between the momentum and the rival? Im looking for a new arsenal and was thinking of going with three balls, the Resurgence/Momentum/Wrath high Flush. Why should i add the rival? WOuld this make sense for someone with medium revs and high ball speed? Could i keep it at a 3 ball arsenal, if so, would the 3 i selected work? Thanks

I think those 3 would work. However, don't underestimate the Rival. I don't know what I would do without my Rival. I have never had a ball that I go to as much as the Rival and I am a ball whore. I have yet to get my Momentum so I can't say it is better than the Momentum, but I think they could compliment each other very well. With high ball speed you might be able to get away with the Rival instead of the Wrath. The only problem is the Rival isn't great on burnt lanes. I can throw it as long as there is some oil though. Just have to get deeper at times.

I think the Rival is the best all around ball on the market.  I could use this ball on just about any condition except the extremes of Heavy oil and Burnt lane conditions.  When I polished it, the ball was cleaner through the fronts and was still smooth at the breakpoint.  As for the Momentum, I have seen Chris use this balls several times, and it is a good ball too.  Strong arcing pearl reactive coverstock.  I would say that it would depend on what conditions you run into more.  If you bowl on conditions with oil in the heads, I would go with the Rival, if you bowl with Drier Fronts, I would go with the Momentum.
