They can't even keep the spell checker working or add new balls in a timely fashion, but you expect them to add and support a new feature???  Surely you jest.

Ballreviews used to have a chat "function".  I don't believe it was directly on the site, but it was linked on the home page so all the Ballreviews people were aware of it.  Few people used it.  Even on this thread there are only a handful requesting one.  Other than the kids who seem to have way too much internet access while at school, there just aren't enough interested people who are on line at the same time.  Aren't there already a bunch of IM services that would serve the same function?

It would be nice, but you can get the same effect by firing up your favorite IRC client and joining #ballreviewschat.  IRC creates chat rooms on the fly, so if we were to all show up on some IRC server and join it, we'd all be chatting now without any contribution or effort from the owner.

Someone with a halfway decent Internet connection and the ability to set up an IRC server could do it with barely any time investment.  And we wouldn't have to put up with the usual IRC crowd.  Hmmmm....
