Search capability
« on: October 17, 2011, 11:27:03 AM »
I haven't been out here in so long....that I forgot....much!

Is there a search function anymore to find forum topics?

Thanks,

Luckylefty

The only thing I can think of is to go to your My Profile (top left corner of the page) and then you can adjust Show data only for the past:
Show Entire Data Base

I don't know if that will help in the site Search feature or not.  If not, if you have an idea of what you are looking for, you could try doing a manual search of the forums.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

I just had the same problem. This seriously makes the forums almost useless as reference material.

That's funny I've been wondering the same thing. Say for instance you click on the Ebonite forum. It says there are 3938 topics but only about 14-15 can be accessed. I've been thinking about getting a 250K but can't go back to see what has actually been said about it other than the reviews and sometimes the chat stuff is a way better way to get info. Let us access all the topics!!!!!!!!!!

Well it's been one week.  Are we going to have search capability or not?

Thanks for any updates.

I can say that I am working toward getting search back up and running but I am not putting an eta out yet since, with the amount of data that we have available, putting it out without sufficient testing could cripple the site. Sorry I don't have any more data for you guys at this time.

Yes, Please give us the search option back for the forums. How do you find the older post's if you can't search ?

I miss the search too, however there is a tiny workaround. Go to change your profile and adjust the "Show data only for the past:" option to a larger date range. Then, go into a forum and the results will be for a much larger date range. Thats how I found some older information on the 811a when it came out more than 60 days ago.

You could also use Google search and put in your search information followed by site:ballreviews.com

Hope that helps.

Do what Norm3v said. It opens up everything.
