3m 5000 grit
« on: March 25, 2015, 10:06:58 AM »
Anyone tried their pads? Seems like a way to get a more consistent finish as opposed to polish (which is supposed to finish p5000)

Please be more specific. Are you talking about a 3M 5000 grit Trizact pad?

Grit Grading is, AFAIK, FEPA. So the grit numbers tell the story. But Trizact for me last a long, long time, much more than what I get from Siaair or Abralon. More what I get from NEAT pads.

That was my next question.....looks like I'll order some Trizact. but, besides the link, where can I get some?

I called my buddy who is an autobody guy and he wasn't sure about bowling balls, but he said on autobodies, skipping grits isn't a good idea...

Not sure if this applies to bowling balls...

2 different ideas, car surfaces and bowling ball surfaces.

On balls, you may want a different degree of "grip", for friction's sake
On cars, you want the smoothest possible surface at all times, for appearances sake.
