In Lowes when I was looking for some sanding products I found a new product from 3M, 3M Sandblaster Flexible Finishing Pad. It is a a thin 3 2/3 " x 9 1/4 " long rubberized pad that you can cut to square sizes for putting a finish to your ball. It has holes so that water flows in and out of it without residues accummulating under the sanding product and getting into the pores of your ball. It comes in 220 and 400 that produces a unique micro-cut. It is design for finishings and the flexible texture creates consistent, tiny scuffs that smooth and polish your finish.

The pieces that I cut I put it in water and then put them on a sponge with which I can apply equal force on the surface of the ball. Much better than sand paper works great.
