Deferent Polishes have differs qualities from my little experience with a few of them. I have tried Track Magic Shine, Beans, and 3M Finness it 2. From my experience here's is the qualities in each:

3M Finnessit2- Hard and longer lasting
Magic Shine- Very Tacky strong reaction to the dry
Beans- Very easy to apply, Very shiny

I like having a few different options for polishing and wanted some opinions of your experiences with different polishes.

Which is best for: Length, Backend, Longer lasting, benefits of gritless or with grit, etc.

The pores in the ball are what creates the friction with the lane and cause the ball to hook. If you clogged those poors you can assume what would happen. You're not out 3 bucks just use it on your car like it was meant for.

If you want to try some polish, beans offers free sample that you just have to pay for shipping. It's enough to do probably 6-8 balls if you don't waste it.

I guess I could use it on my car like it was meant lol, but thats alot of work.

I should check the ingredients in the stuff i bought and see if it contains that silicate stuff.

Thanks for your help, I think ill use it on my weak ball, as its generally a spare ball anyway.

Or you could make one of your old balls a spare ball.

I just want to emphasize this part in Charlest's origional post. I have killed a balls reaction by applying too much polish when I didn't know exactly what I was doing starting out. I resurfaced a ball, and used the appropriate polish and grit, but I applied too much and even though it was a polish with abraisives, the ball went pretty much as straight as my plastic ball (it was preeetty though

Reguardless of which polish you use too much is a bad thing. And I simply applied a small line/dose of Powerhouse FF Polish (equivalent to the size of a quarter) 6 times on a clean portion of towel 6 sides.

(grip faced up, grip faced down, grip half way up the ball cup fingers showing, grip half way up thumb showing, grip turned sideways ring finger and 1/2 thumb showing on cup, grip turned sideways middle finger and 1/2 thumb showing)

Two doses on 2 sides would have been plenty.

Out of the polishes I have tried, I have Powerhouse FF Polish, Beans, and L/LM FF Polish.

Both the Beans and Powerhouse add back end upon hitting the friction on the pattern. The Beans adds more shine, and the Powerhouse is not quite as shiney but is sharper and a harder move at the end of the pattern. (Both of these have abbraisives as Charlest was talking about, its typical with that kind of polish)

The L/LM FF polish (no abraisives) got down the lane cleanly like the other two polishes but the move off the friction was not sharp, it just moved like the ball did pre-polish but pre-polish I couldnt get it to clear the heads, it was hooking continuously too early. This let me clear the heads and still get a controllable reaction.

(PS. I don't think I like the abraisive polishes too well, it makes the ball's reaction too radical for my taste, and I've played with a ton of starting grits)

Just for the record, I did apply Turtle Wax polishing compound to my Bash, and it did exactly as i expected, and by today it was hooking again, just less than it did before.

My house has a new polish machine though so im going to start taking advantage of it.
