If that ball did hook at all, it hooked at the arrows. That's entirely too much surface for any condition. If the oil was as heavy as you say, you AREN'T going to get much hook. You especially won't get motion on the back part of the lane. What you need to do on an absolute flood is move your target in close to the headpin (since the ball won't be hooking back into it much), slow your speed, and tumble the ball end over end to promote a strong roll. Your goal is to create some entry angle and reduce deflection when the ball hits the pins. Your goal is NOT to hook the ball necessarily.
