sanding/polishing particles
« on: January 29, 2004, 08:24:29 PM »
I have a Super Power Pearl that I want to bring down to a lower grit (like 800 from the factory 1500) with polish.  Do I need to worry about damaging the particles when sanding it down?  And want type of polishes work the best (i.e. do I need to specifically use particle polish?)

Thanks, Jay

Never use sandpaper on particles unless told to do so by the manufacturer.  Storm doesn't say otherwise, so I'd use Scotch Brite.  Maroon (320) if you need it, Green (600) and Blue (800) should get you there.  The brand of polish doesn't really matter.  The Storm Xtra Step polishes let you control the final grit.
