Which Powerhouse Cleaner?
« on: August 02, 2007, 02:30:36 AM »
Hey everyone. I got my first ball recently and want to make sure I do something to keep it clean, even if only spraying it with a Powerhouse product after every session. The ball is the Raw Hammer Anger and I bowl about once a week, sometimes twice. The ball is roughly a week and a half old, and I've been out 3 times with it. I'm just curious as to which Powerhouse product I should get. I've narrowed it down to either the regular Cleaner or the Clean N'Dull, but I figured you guys probably know more than I do and may be able to give some suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Just read Shelley's reply in this topic: http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Replies.asp?TopicID=165154&ForumID=17&CategoryID=5

It appears that I may want to get both, use the regular cleaner after every session then once in a while hit it with the Clean N'Dull?

If you don't want to get the Clean & Dull, you can probably just have your shop clean it for a couple of bucks.  They should use a cleaner like C&D, it'd take five minutes or so.  That would save you the money from buying the stuff (not much, only about $9 for a small bottle) and the elbow grease for applying it.

That might be a better idea actually, especially with my inexperience. Applying the regular Cleaner by myself shouldn't be a problem though right? Just spray it on the ball and spread with a towel?

When I attended the Powerhouse two day Lane Play and Ball Layout course, we bowled at the lanes next door.  Jeff Ussery, the Powerhouse manager for cleaners, polishes, etc. (Jeff - I know that's not your official title but I'm too lazy to look it up), used the Clean 'n Dull, from a bottle that was still labelled Track.  He should know.  He also said that the best way to keep your ball's reaction as long as possible is to faithfully clean it after every bowling session.  --  JohnP

Hello team,

I actually prefer to use a combination of 2 products.  I use Powerhouse Energizer Spray Cleaner after EVERY bowling session.  Then approximately once a week, I like to use Powerhouse Clean n' Dull on all of my equipment.  I find that this combination of ball maintenance gives me great performance on the lanes, and keeps my stuff reacting the way I like.  I hope this information helps.  If you have any questions about cleaners or polishes, you're always free to e-mail me at jussery@ebonite.com.  Thanks!
