Even though it's not allowed by the ABC, do you still use acetone to clean your gear?  I've wanted to try it, but I do have ethics.  What does acetone do to a ball anyway?  Just curious!

I use acetone to clean my grips and tape, it give me that new feel

Don't use it to clean your grips because it will dissolve them MUCH faster than it affects any bowling ball. It will make them larger with each use. Use alcohol to clean inserts.

Maybe that is why it feels like new, the outer layer is being dissolved?

As per usual, it depends on how much and how often you use it.
