I read on here that a few of you adjust the cover of a brand new ball without even trying it first. Can you explain why? Is it a certain coverstock that you had done this before and liked the results? I read about wet sanding a new ball down then re polishing it back up. Does this mellow the ball some? Help with over under issues? What grits are you using for the wet sand and then polishing?
I do not have a ball spinner, but I am one to play with the cover AFTER I have used it awhile though. I mainly use Ebonite Quick Sand and Matted finish for dull balls, and then I like to use Ultimate and Ebonite factory Finish on pearls all by hand. Of course everything get cleaned with Hook It.
This will be my second fall season and I am now in only scratch leagues....should I be looking at a spinner this year to make my adjustment quicker and easier? Suggestions on one for a small work bench?
Thanks Gom
