i had to give my spinner to a mate when i moved house recently, but have found that hand sanding my equipment with Abralon has brought surprisingly good results. i start with 360 (then de-oil if necessary), then 500, then the OOB finish (all wet), working my way slowly all over the ball using a circular motion. after reading how the Haus machines work, it seems that hand sanding is actually closer to this process than using a spinner, and the abralon grit isn't changed (to achieve a 4000 finish on a spinner you basically had to use a 2000 ab pad). Obviously no good for putting polish on, but for my sanded stuff, they have been rolling great after this process.
just wondering if anyone else has tried this and if there are any further tips that are useful.
