Title: After sanding a ball down..
Post by: OHBowler on February 22, 2008, 12:47:13 AM
Lets say i sanded a ball down to 220 grit sandpaper to give it a bath.  Should i go 500 albaron, then 1000, then 2000 to get up to 2000 albaron?

Yes, that is how I always do it.

I would NOT go from 220 grit directly to 500 grit. I would use a 320/360/400 grit as an intermediate stage.

I start with 220- go to a maroon scotch brite then continue up.  I also try to go sandpaper to scotch-brite because the scotch-brite seems to smooth the previous sanding lines better.  As always PLENTY of water.
