Abralon Grit for Hammer Big Rig Diesel
« on: November 22, 2008, 12:55:31 AM »
I am trying to find out what the OOB grit was for the Big Rig Diesel? I have a friend that would like me to sand it down for him and bring it back up to the OOB.

Thanks for any help,

Mark

I don't know what Hammer listed the factory surface at, but I always had the best success with my Big Rig at 1000 grit. It was a great oil ball that was my go-to ball for a long time. Great piece.

The orginal finish just said polished.  I keep mine at 4000 Abralon with a light polish.  Works just like the day I drilled it.

Honestly? OOB varied from what looked like fresh 1000 abralon to a factory polished finish.  The OOB finish on the BRD's wasn't that consistent.

This source says polished - http://www.bowlingballreviews.com/ball.asp?ballid=2643

Here it's matte - http://www.bowlingball.com/Bowling-Ball-2996/hammer-big-rig-diesel-sp.html

BTM uses another term and said it had a buffed finish...
