arsenal coverstock suggestions
« on: December 06, 2010, 06:57:00 PM »
Alright guys I have 6 bowling balls I''ve mainly picked up used and cheap when I''ve had the money. My question is what surfaces could i put on them to make a good arsenal. I don''t know the technical layouts but I remember most of the pin placements. So if you guys could make suggestions on surface and tel me the order they would be after would be great.

Blackwidow solid pin up between the fingers
Evolve pin next to the ring finger
Freeze pin up between the fingers
Tornado pin in the palm
Playmaker pin up not sure where
Complete Nv not sure on this one

About my stats avg ball speed 17-19 rev rate over 400
Thanks in advance for any help and input guys

It would help to know what lane condition,ie dry, medium, heavy oil,you plan on using each ball for.

I do the pbax league over the summer and all the tournaments I can afford. So pba patterns sport shots there's one tournament that uses all the kegel patterns. For house shot I just use my freeze all night. Not really any specific pattern I just want to make the best up and down arsenal o can with what I have

ultimately it depends on which pattern you are bowling on. on shorter patterns you would like to ball the be controllable on the back end, u would want a dull surface so the ball bleeds a little energy early. as far as medium to long patterns go it depends on surface of the lanes and where you want to play. long patterns like shark and scorpion u want the ball to read the pattern so made 1000,2000 or 4000 depends on your rev rate, speed and ball choice could work

personnally i found that the freeze does not like to be anything but shiny.....

i tried dulling it (had a resurface due to chip)... tried 1000 grit sandpaper nope dab reaction (for me) put polish on it better..  hit it with 1500 grit sandpaper and polish  .... acts like OOB again  (sweet)
