New Video - Sanding discs, Snake Oil and Remedy oh my!
« on: November 24, 2008, 04:05:02 AM »
We finally have edited our video using our sanding discs and Snake Oil polish to resurface and revitalize a seriously under maintained ball.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5313151945322511928

P.S. we cut out the 4000 grit pad to save time due to youtube's 10 minute restriction, but we are having trouble with youtube, so we'll load the full video as well as a video called "Speed Resurfacing" on google in the next couple of days. Oh ya, just bear with me, I say Alright about 10 billion times, lol, maybe we'll hire a voice over artist next time.

We just finished filming "Speed Resurfacing" I was able to confiscate another poorly treated widow, they owner took steel wool the surface and left huge scratches in the surface. It should be on the website and our google page by Saturday.

as a note.....don't use a brillo pad or steel wool to the surface of the ball, stick to our sanding discs or at the very least a scotch-brite pad. lol

Kevin,

You have GOT to be kidding! Someone actually used BRILLO pads????
That's the biggest, most obvious joke when talking about surfacing a ball. I can't believe some numb nuts did that. Talk about lack of common sense.

Next someone will be using a wire brush.

His exact words, "well I didn't scrub too hard."

After watching the replay, there is nothing speedy about this resurface job it tops out at over 8 minutes. I had to run the gamut of 80grit, 160grit, 320, 600, 1500, then I stopped at 2000 to apply Snake Oil. It just seemed speedy because it was done in one take and the sound was off. I was able to pick up some more "well used" bowling balls at the league we sub in, so I will try to make a two minute resurface video.

Well Jeff, someone finally took your advice.  Maybe he even used lighter fluid as a cutting fluid/lubrication.
