sanding with abralon
« on: December 03, 2007, 09:16:25 AM »
i normally use water when i sand with abralon pads. i was wondering if it's ok not to use water. someone posted a youtube link a while ago where someone from innovative (not sure anymore) sanding a ball with abralon pads without water. any experiences using no water? are there differences? any help appreciated.

Using water makes them last longer and helps to remove debris so they work more efficiently

I took an Abralon pad with me to Nationals and had to use it. It worked fine but seemed slightly rougher than when I use them at home with a spinner and water.

If you don't use water make sure you use a face mask. You don't want to breathe in the ball dust which also has dirt and lane oil in it. I saw that video and was surprised the guy didn't use water.
