Have a question for anyone who has used both products. How does Motiv's cleaning products compare to clean and dull.

I've found PG Scuff to be a lot like Valentino's Resurrection: they abrade the ball to the 1200-1800 grit range when used by hand, cleaning the ball quite well. When used with pressure and the spinner, they'll take the ball to much finer, depending on your pressure and the time, leaving a finer and possibly lightly polished finish.

Clean and Dull does not not normally abrade the surface without a lot of pressure and time and then much,much less than the above 2. Clean and Dull is the next best thing to a full extraction. In fact, if you use C&D regularly and thoroughly you can postpone an extraction for a long time.

Power Gel Clean is not, in my experience, comparable to the best water-based cleaners, like Remedy, Knock Out, Zapp-It, Vise cleaner & Liquid Nitro.

PG polish is one of the least abrasive polishes on the market. It is really good for rev-dominant bowlers because it allows you to get so many levels of polish, degrees of shine. If you are speed dominant, you need a full shine or a dull ball; then some of the other more abrasive polishes may be a better choice. If you expect to get an immediate high gloss shine with Power Gel, you'd be wrong. It takes a while and at least 2 coats to get a higher degree of shine. As I said, it's strength is that you stop at any point in the process and get small steps of length and control.

For cleaning, 50/50 mixture of Simple Green and alcohol is very cost effective.

Cheap, but it can't be used during bowling.
After bowling, Clean & Dull, Hook-It or LMB International's ball cleaner are all much more effective. They all remove ground in oil lines that SG won't.

Thanks for stating the what people need to know about SG relative to the stronger ball specific cleaners. It gets lost very once on a while.

You can use the original formula simple green at anytime and it is legal.  I'm not sure if your post was pertaining to mixing with alcohol or not using it in its original bottle.  Those two things may make it illegal.  Even though Isopropyl alcohol is legal at anytime as well.

Not enough of a film according to USBC. Or else it wouldn't be on the approved anytime list.  I was told by USBC that was the reason that they moved Clean N Dull to the before and after list, because it left a film on the ball.

I'm not worried about what the USBC saw; I'm basing what I said on what I saw when I used it to clean my shield of some nasty stuff. It left a film that required alcohol to remove.

Clean and Dull has a proven track record.
