I see people talking about "some surface" for the El Paso pattern...am curious as what grit we are talking about.
I would think 3-4k is low, 1-2k is medium, and under 1k would be rough/heavy surface...
I know lots of folks like 500 under 1k or 2k.

Or even just hand hazing the surface with either a 4000 grit pad or a light grey Scotch-Brite pad.

I think "some surface" just means more surface (lower grit) that what you might typically use. For me that would be 1000 or less.

at your specs I would recommend 3000abralon/1500wet/dry with a fine polish

for me.. for example taking a hyroad pearl which 1500 grit factory polished and taking a 3000 abralon pad and lightly stripping polish off ball by hand..."little surface"
