Ball spinner recommendations
« on: April 08, 2006, 02:35:29 AM »
I am getting ready to purchase a personal ball spinner and am
considering the Donkey 1/3 or the Ver-Tech 1/3 horse.  The donkey
is 5 pounds heavier, does this mean it's built heavier duty?  They
are the same price.  If anyone can provide info on either or both
of these spinners it would be appreciated.

DO NOT get a donkee spinner.. That company up for sale so you might even have warranty issues and the Donkee spinners vibrate horribly.. I had one and sold it within a month..

Get a vertex mold 1/2 hp spinner and you will be happy. I have had mine for almost a year and love it.. Its only a single speed but it works just fine.. I can due a total resurface or just polish and clean and I have had no problems at all with not having 2 speeds..

Is the 1/2 horse that much more effective than the 1/3 horse.   would
it be worth the xtra $.  On what jobs do you need more HP?

I would get the 1/2 over the 1/3. Its not that much more money and your getting a motor with 50% more power.

Its worth it just for the longevity factor..

I have two spinners from Innovative Products.( IPS-4 and a Tub mount)

http://www.innovativebowling.com/

They cost more but they have held up good for all
the years I have had mine.

Innovative...costs more, but better, lasts longer, heavy duty..worth the extra, IMO.

Agree Inovative has the highest quality available to the bowler with out going completely wild. I'll be ordering one of these bad boys up in the next month.

I have the Donkee dual speed which was a gift.  However, if I have to buy another, it will most definitely be an Innovative dual-speed.

Thanks for the feedback, I didn't want to spend as much as
inovative costs, so I will get a Vertex 1/2 horse.  I appreciate
everyones comments.

If you buy either or any spinner purchase the 1/2 hsp model it should only cost a few dollars more, with electric motors larger is better over the long haul it will last longer and give you better results, and most likely not viberate as much or drop rpm's while under use also it will run cooler over long periods of run time.

I just picked up a Donkee 3/4 figured what the heck go for it!
It has 2 speeds one for resurfacing / changing cover and the other for polishing.

I have only had time to do one ball. Planning on doing a couple more today.  It worked awesome - the only issue I have is yes it does wobble on the higher speed but I heard from others that was the case so no surprises there.  I would highly recommend that if you get one of these get the splash card it is well worht the couple extra dollars.
