Title: Beans Sauce Question?

It has been quite a while since I have used the stuff, been using Snake oil with awesome results.

Gonna be experimenting with my Track Kinetic, as of late my Rattler has taken its place as my go to ball. They have a similar reaction shape, with a very similar drill, the Kinetic is a touch earlier and a little less angular.

I was using 1000 grit sandpaper plus snake oil. Right now I just took the ball down to 500 grit sandpaper with Secret sauce on top.

Question is with this stuff being a grit-based polish, with that surface is it going to be to similar to the 1000 with snake oil, or should I have went higher in grit before appyling. It cam out pretty shiny, but still showing the sand lines under the polsih.

Personally I have never had a problem with applying to much from what i remeber when I was using it, but others have said to much makes it skate like ice. The kinetic has built in length, and I am looking for similkar motion to rattler so I don't have to use it all the time.

In so far as I have used them both, to get similar results, use a lower grit with Beans. What you did seems right BUT it all depends on how much you "polished" it with Beans. Less is always better, followed by testing. You can always add more.

Even Beans recommends no higher base sanding level than 1000 US or 2000 Abralon (if I remember correctly) when using his polish.

I always get the best reactions for myself after a game or 2 is bowled with the ball right off the spinner when prepped at a higher grit first. Seems like the surface regulates a little better.

I suggest 500 Grit Abralon on pearls and 1000 grit abralon on solids before the Sauce is applied.

I am currently testing several different cream based formulas and should have them available in the next few months...

look forward to trying it TB

LH for me if i had too high of a grit and burnt the sauce in too much / too long / too much pressure them my ball just sailed the break point

also i don't believe beans sauce is " grit based " as you called it

its just a polish, and doesnt change the grit, again jmo

It is a grit based polish and NO it wont be anything like Secret Sauce.

Secret Sauce is a special formulation to do what it does. POLISH!!! FAST!!!

and what then is the "Magic Dust" I have?  I've never added the water yet

Magic Dust is also a grit based polish. It is more coarse than the Secret Sauce and with none of the suspension agents in it.

The Magic Dust puts less of a shine on the ball and is good for a little earlier read.

ONE NOTE:

The Magic Dust has been discontinued as of April 1st 2008.
