I have read a few times that people wished that there were Abralon pads in P800 and P1500 grit. I also think that the step from 1000 to 2000 is a little to big.
Not to get to a good 2000 grit finish, but in reaction on the lane.
Today I tried some samples of Abranet Soft, also a Mirka product. The name says it all. The grain is bonded on to a fabric net and a foam layer. The foam is thinner as with Abralon, but the pad is flexible enough.
They use a different kind of grain and coating method, so the result would be a little different than when using Abralon, but that is with all other sanding methods.
The finish is very satisfying, with an even sanding pattern. It is also very easy to use. The foam gives grip for easy holding and an even pressure on the surface. There's no clogging, because of it's open structure.
I have not tested the result on the lane yet.
Just give it a try.
