Best Ball Cleaning and Polishing Products-

By hand, I have been using “Neo-Tac” products, i.e., Renew-It, Control-It, Liquid Sandpaper, and a 50/50 combination of 409 Degreaser and 70% Isopropyl Alcohol for ball cleaning.  What products do you guys use and why?  How often?  Method, hand or spinner?

Thanks –

Denny

Personally, I use
- Neo-Tac Liquid Nitro,
- Legends ball cleaner
- Brunswick's Remove-all
- Ultimate's Black Magic Rejuvenator.

for everyday cleaning, after each league or tournament session.

I use Track's Clean and Dull (will use Track's Clean and Tacky, its replacement, when I run out of Clean and Dull.) for heavy oil dull balls or for once a month for everything else.

I know about and have used both the Liquid Nitro and the Ulitimate Rejuvenator, with the Rejuvinator being my preference. I know nothing about the Legends or Brunswick cleaners. How do they compare?

No clue; they both get my balls clean of everything except belt marks from disintegrating rubber belts. Nothing but xxxxxx and/or elbow grease removes that.

I guess I am fortunate in that I haven't had a problem with belt marks in the two houses I bowl in.

For Cleaning :
Mean Green (1$ at dollar stores) - cleans gunk or hard to get off grime in 100% state, can be mixed with water for a general degreaser.

Awesome Orange (1$ at dollar stores) - less powerful and good @ 100% for after bowling session maintenance cleaning.

Polish - Lane Concepts Extreme Shine

Best Cleaner- Lane Concepts Extreme Clean-after every use on the spinner
Best Polish- Lane Concepts Extreme Shine- depends on how much track burn there is, but on the spinner when I use it.
Kegler X- just curious if u are using the Extreme Shine, why would u not use Extreme Clean, instead of those dollar store cleaners, I guess it may be alittle more money but Extreme Clean is the best cleaner I have ever used and I have used/tried alot of cleaners on the market. Just to add Extreme Dull is the other product made by Lane Concepts and it is better than the other dulling products out there.

ive heard of people using 50-50 Isopropyl alcohol and nail polish remover and it seems to to the trick while giving them a nice buzz at the same time!!
I was wondering do ball cleaners/polishes have to be usbc approved in order to be used on equipment used during sanctioned play?

That defies any logic BECAUSE nail polish remover, at least some that my wife and mother used, also have oils in them. If I were those people who use this mixture, I'd rather NOT put oil on the surface of my balls, bowling and otherwise.

Now a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and acetone makes a certain amount of sense.

Theoretically, any cleaner used during USBC sanctioned play must be on the list approved by the USBC for use DURING sanctioned play.

Paul,

Never gave the Extreme Clean a thought as of yet, the two mild degreasers seem to get the job done, cleaning the surface and giving me decent scores.  My pro shop to my knowledge only carries the polish.  But that's not to say I wouldn't give the cleaner a shot, at a later date.  Appreciate your enthusiasm about the the Lane Concepts products.  I like the polish product quite a bit myself, and can imagine their whole line would be good.

You use 4 different "everyday" cleaners? Can you explain?

I use Ebonite Powerhouse Energizer as my "everyday" cleaner because it's mostly equal to Black Magic (in my experience) and smells a heck of a lot better and is easier to use. If I run into a situation where I can't clean one of my stronger balls after 3 games or once a monthish, I use Clean and Dull. I also apply Doc's Magic Elixir once a month and that seems to make the grime come off easier regardless of what I use.

Need new stuff? Get it from http://www.birddogbowling.com and get it drilled by Mike Austin!

I meant I can use any one of them. I carry Remove-all in my bag because its bottle size is the most convenient. I got the Legends cleaner free with the balls. I tried Black Magic Rejuvenator and Liquid Nitro because they were recommended by friends. I find them of equal cleaning power. I list 4; so people who ask can pick one of them. AT least one of them should be readily available to most people.

Clean and Dull is the POWER cleaner of the bunch. I use that one relatively infrequently, since I don't see any more oil than medium and lucky to see that.
