Ball Cleaner
« on: November 29, 2007, 12:04:44 PM »
I'm trying to decide on a ball cleaner and I've narrowed it down to my "top three." Please don't fill the thread telling me to use simple green or acetone, because I'm not asking for either answer.

Which have you had the best results with cleaning after every three games?

  • Ebonite Powerhouse Energizer
  • Brunswick Remove All
  • Ultimate Black Magic Rejuvinator

If I'm missing a great cleaner, besides a home remedy, let me know.

Thanks.

Ultimate Black Magic Rejuvinator all the way. You will not be disappointed with that one. I've been using it recently and man it really takes the oil right off the ball. Just use it directly after bowling and watch the oil just come right off. I've used all types of cleaner and this is BY FAR THE BEST!

My pro shop was selling the Track cleaners but when Ebo took over they opted not to sell the Track cleaner and so the pro shop operator had every cleaner sent to him and tested all of the top ones and he said the BMR was the best that he has ever used. When you apply it to the ball let it sit and it starts to bubble and it gets the oil off and out of the coverstock if its not really deep.

I would def recommend this cleaner to anyone for any ball type!

Tried Rejuvenator. While it's good, it can't hold a candle to Lanemasters cleaner. Used to be called Legends cleaner.

Rejuvenator, Remove-All and Neo-Tac's Liquid Nitro, while all very good, still play 2nd fiddle to Lanemasters cleaner, in my opinion.

charles, I've heard about LaneMasters cleaner and I'd like to buy it, but I can't find it anywhere online. My proshop is almost 40 minutes away... Know anywhere I can get it online?

Buddies has 'em all.

Dunno why a shop would stop carrying the Track cleaners, they're the same formulas they were before.

Unless it comes with the bowling ball, purchasing it online can be expensive if you just want a small bottle because most places have a minimum (not unreasonable) delivery charge of around $7 or thereabouts. Buddies carries it.

If I were you, I'd get together either a list of accessories I'd like (they carry a lot) or a group of friends who each would like a bottle.

If you want a large bottle (I think it's a quart), then the delivery charge is a smaller percentage of the price. $27.50 for a quart; $6.50 for 4 oz; $17.50 for 16 oz, pint.

I agree with Charlest about the Legends Cleaner, just be careful using it on some of the newer Storm stuff(i.e. Special Agent).  I recently cleaned a friends SA and it completely wiped out the lettering from the label(it's strong stuff).  Also, do yourself a favor and get the quart size from buddies for 27.50 by far the best deal and it will last you forever.  Also, if you need extra stuff or accessories, place an order with them with a minimum purchse of 75.00 and get free shipping.
