I am using a light to medium condition ball that comes at 500/2000 with a high polish. In it's box condition it had too much back end for the lanes I bowl on. So, I changed the surface to 1000/4000 and hand polish. It's better but still has a little too much of a "skid/snap" reaction with is sometimes hard to control. It has been suggested that I change the surface to 500/1000 and no polish with the idea that this will cause the ball to use up a lot of it's energy in the front and mid-lanes and be more controllable and smoother on the back-end. Would this work? I usually think of surface when I'm faced with oil not dry.
