Coverstock Durability
« on: August 29, 2006, 03:55:35 AM »
Well, it is like this..., for all of those who have been able to experience different coverstocks:

Of recent coverstocks, which would be the most durable from each company? Which ball (or balls) has it?

For the low budget individuals (like me) who can afford one or two balls a year, durability is an important topic. Thank you very much for your comments.

I found Columbia 300's SuperFlex to be very durable -I only have one ball with it, an old Recation Rip, bit is has caught little nicks and scratches since I have it, and it did not track out easily, even though I used it on short patterns and light condition with much friction.

Another good one is the original Activator pearl from Brunswick - similar case.

Brunswick - PK18, Activator
Columbia - Superflex
Storm - Accutread, Reactor
Dynothane - Soaker
Track - PowerPlus (EX or not)

If you can't buy equipment regularly, I'd go with a Wizard/Nemesis.  Solid PK18 lasts darn near forever and adjusts well to a lot of different surface preps.  Or one of the high-end DT Soaker balls.
