Title: burning in polish
Post by: rico4life on November 25, 2009, 02:38:16 PM
I thought i remember reading on here that if you burn in polish to long, it will make the ball to skid/flip. I think the topic was talking about secret sauce, but i did a search and didn't find what i was looking for.

That is true in general for application of all polishes. The harder you press, the longer your press, the more polish you use, the glossier the ball gets, the longer it goes, the harder it flips, and the more susceptible it is to carrydown or spottiness.

Only put as much shine on a ball as you need. You should stop at different points and test it to see if you've added enough shine to get the length you need.

Plus, the more you burn the polish in the more chance that the ball will skid right through the breakpoint and never move.  especially if you're a speed dominant player.  --  JohnP
