Buy sctoch brite pads...
« on: October 02, 2004, 12:32:11 PM »
I can seem to only find the green ones in my area. I need other grits like the white, brown, gray, maroon etc. Do you know of an online place to buy these?

Also,
Many supermarkets now carry these with a sponge backing it. They're about 3"x5", 2.5"x4" in size. The sponge is great because you should use these wet anyway. Dampen the sponge, wring it out, spray on more water as needed. These are a very handy size for your hand also. They are usually located in the soap section and among the other sponges and other cleaning liquids. Since the same company makes them, 3M, the colors are the same as we talk about here.

Find a Sherman Williams or any auto body supply store..the will have a wide selecetion of scotch brite pads as well as wet dry sandpaper..only problem you may have is you may have to buy by the box in bulk.

Most good sized hardware stores and the huge cube type building centers have at least the maroon, green, and light gray ones in their paint departments.

while i don't see where they are very effective you can get at least the gray ones at Napa Auto Parts if you have one near ya. They were a buck apiece.

when it comes to scotch brite!, there is not a lot of difference between grits. It also wears down so fast after using it over a short period of time.

I'd have to disagree with that taige690.  Scotch Brite come in a good variety of grits and lasts longer than sandpaper in my opinion.

I've found the blue at Wal Mart, and the maroon and white at Home Depot or Lowes.  Look in the automotive and painting sections.
