Secret Sauce (worked on this brunswick ball)
« on: March 03, 2017, 10:44:13 AM »
I had a hard time finding a surface for the LT-48 since I got it and thought about selling it. I Just don't match up well with brunswick.....but..

I worked the cover the other night (in hopes of) and finished with Lane1 Secret Sauce. The ball cleared the heads easy, responded well off the dry areas w/out being crazy quick, and held the inside. The ball gave me a bigger room to play. It also helped me win $49. 8)

The only issue, the polish seemed to last just over 2 games on this high friction lane surface. I added two coats on the track side of the ball, but that wasn't enough. Is there a method to stretch the polish, to stay longer on the surface. Underneath was a light pressure 4k.

Also, the price for 4oz of this SS has gone up to $15 now. Is there a comparable polish to the SS?

I had purchased an 8oz Secret Sauce from Lane1 about 2 weeks ago and still havent seen product. Constant emails to them only yield responses filled with excuses and explanations on why they send product out WITHOUT tracking numbers. They explained if they spent an extra $1 for the tracking number, for every 100 orders thats $100 out of their pocket they need to cough up, and they are in the business to make a profit like every other company. I say No Problem Charging $300 for a bowling ball, but forgive you for not spending $1 for a tracking number on a less expensive item. I asked just for my money back so i could get this experience over with and they refused and said that they will send me another bottle out today. I don't know what to think.

I think you may never want to deal with Lane#1 again?
I certainly hope you get this next bottle. There are probably more important things in your life that need attention; shame this needs any attention whatsoever..

I have about 3oz. left of SS and I was wanting to get another bottle. second guessing.....

I had put this one the LT-48 with 4k underneath, and when I bowled at another house not too long ago, the LT-48 was very quick off the dry. Very sharp backends compared to the other house I bowl. I had to bring down the cover to 1k to tame the ball down.

Haha...  Never tried the Sauce (secret sauce that is) because I always found Beans (well - the A-Hole kid who was working for him who was shouting off on BR a few years back) and Ritchie as being rather "abrasive".  Pun was intended.

They can make the best product in the world, but I wasn't interested in giving them my money...

Zombie thread but wanted to give a big shout out to Secret Sauce.  Just got an 8oz bottle and this stuff is amazing.  3 drops and 15 seconds on a spinner and you can see your ugly mug in the ball just as well as in the bathroom mirror.  I understand some of the bad blood and lack of tack by the company in general but I am very happy with this stuff and my Stealth Bomber ball as well.  I would say to anyone get a big bottle while you can because who knows how long Lane #1 will be around.  For record ordered it on 8/11, Friday and received it on 8/19, Saturday which for free shipping is fine by me.

I bought 3 larger size bottles before Lane#1 bought out Beans. This was a number or years ago, and I still have 2 bottles left!  A little goes a long way!   8)

Wow all the Black Magic polish and even Vise Slip Agent are banned during competition but Secret Sauce can be used at any time.  How does that make sense?  Oh well makes it double useful I guess.

It doesn't. Given the amount of abrasive in SS, it obviously slipped through the cracks of the USBC's approval process.
