Dishwasher safe???
« on: August 10, 2007, 01:56:48 AM »
I've tried different cleaners, renewal seems to have worked the best, but I get the best results from running my ball thru a cycle in the dishwasher. How harmful could this be? I use a strong detergent and I think the temp stays below the 140F that I have seen mentioned on here to not go above. I let it stand for a day to dry and have had very good results.

Input...

same method I use but not a strong detergent.  Works great for me also.  No issues that I have seen

Does this method effect the coverstock at all, or just clean out the oil?

I haven't seen any mention of it yet, but just in case, here's the reminder:

Turn off, deactivate the drying cycle before using the dishwasher method. The drying cycle creates heat that can affect a bowling ball BADLY.

I've done it to a few balls (without detergent) and no heat dry cycle! It works great for me. I just let it stand a day with holes down and polish it back up the next day. (I also make sure the holes are down in the dishwasher.)

There's always' hope as long as there is one more ball in the bag!

I've also tried it with good results, placing the ball holes down on the rack..

[50 Degrees Celsius = 122 Fahrenheit]

My pro shop guy said not to use any detergent though..
