Cleaning while bowling

I know the guy from Valentino's sprays his microfiber towel and wipes off the ball before every throw. Does anyone else do this? Or do you just clean the balls after you're done using them?

I do likewise with Valentino's Remedy RX ball cleaner as well as spray my ball after bowling and letting it set until I start to see signs of evaporation and then I wipe my ball off with a white shop paper towel.

I clean after every game, say that without smiling would ya kindly? It depends on the oil and how often I use the ball.

It depends on how dirty the lanes are. One place I bowl has the ball come back feeling of small pieces of dirt on it and some grime. I do tend to clean it every 4-5 frames or so with Remedy. Other places are cleaner and I only clean the ball after league or practice is finished.

That said, I did try Kevin Valentino's method a couple of times. It did make the ball react better every time I threw it. But it was tedious.

I feel a clean bowling ball is a bowlers best tool to first understand a lane pattern and then combat said lane condition. Depending on rev's, the actual amount of surface that touches a bowling ball is a 1/5" of an inch strip that is ~105" to ~215" long. So what happens if that surface is never the same and always losing it's ability absorb oil?

It causes inconsistent reactions. Not only that, but it aides in the advancement of oil down the lane causing quicker breakdown of the pattern.

Cleaning the surface of the bowling ball helps keep a constant and fresh surface. Cleaning also removes the oil that your bowling ball will eventually absorb if given time, which will prevent ball death. Using a cleaner every shot you'll notice that when playing a line by yourself, you can keep the line longer with less adjustments of your feet and target.

Is it a little much to clean every shot? For some yes, but I truly don't think so, it takes 2 seconds to wipe down the track of the ball during your pre-shot routine. Every strike shot I wipe the bowling ball down with a Remedy damp microfiber cloth. Fold a microfiber cloth in 4th's and spray 10 sprays of Remedy RX and you'll be good to go for a whole game. Apply more cleaner as necessary.

Try it during league for two weeks to see if there's a difference. Oh and make sure you hit the same mark every shot
