For years I have cleaned my bowling balls with Neo-Tac's Hook_it. Recently, I have tried Remedy a few times. Using Remedy, the towel/rag/paper towel does not get dirty at all, even though the ball feels clean. Using Hook_It, the towel/rag/paper towel gets plenty dirty.

I do not know if this difference is because Remedy dissolves the dirt or Hook-It does a much better job or what? Why the rag does NOT show dirt when cleaning with Remedy is a puzzle.

Any thoughts?

My experience has been exactly the same. I've done several tests of Remedy after Hook-It, and Hook-It before Remedy.

Hook-It always takes more grime off the ball.

This isn't a knock on Remedy. It's an adequate cleaner that can be easily be used between games and for quick clean-up after. Hook-It is nastier to use, and I don't like exposing others to the fumes and the smell.

At the alley, I'll use Remedy. For more extensive cleaning at home, I'll use Hook-It or Clean and Dull. They all have their place.

Does the ball look and feel clean?

Remedy does break down the oil, beltmarks and grime. When I use remedy I typically see a dark circle of dirt on the towel after 5 or 6 games of use.
