According to the "Tires Theory" a lower grid like 500 should have less grip in the backends than a higher one. I was pretty convinced about this until someone last Monday throw a Thurderstruck at 360 with a little polish on, i think it was Storms step 2 (the other guy told me). Don't get me wrong the ball was NOT shiny i know that because it was far away from my T-Road. The Thunderstruck bites in the Backends like a wild Viper. It was awesome to see that nice reaction, unless it has a pretty good look allover. How can that be explained?

I soon learned that too much shine will cause a ball to not react at all. If you had a ball on the spinner and keep burning in the polish, you will end up with a spare ball..lol
The thing with polished finishes is it really depends on the under laying grit at which you apply the polish.
Look at how some guys scuff up the back-flares on a ball to make it bite on the back of the lane.
Kinda goes againt everything preached on this board, lol
So to much polish will make the ball not react at all...
