I have both a Phaze 4 and Phaze 5. Was wondering if anyone has tried to remove the Reacta Shine from the factory. What have you used? What was the result? Read somewhere to use a 1500 pad than use Storm's Step 2. Thanks for any information.

The P4 came from the factory with Step 2 on it already.

With the new Reacta Gloss finish, some people like Luke are using 1000 and then shining with Step 2 instead.

I do a 2k pad to get it all off, and then back up to a 4k pad for a baseline of surface I like.  So far every time I've taken Reactagloss off, I've been happier with the ball.
The YouTubers bowl more than me, throw more balls than me, and are better bowlers than me.  If every Staffer and every Pro is 'breaking the shine' "hit it with a pad to crack the surface" and they all hate Reactagloss... I'm not going to waste my time trying to be the 1 person in the world Reactagloss works for.  Get that shit off the ball, and if I want it polished, I'll use Step 2.

I originally liked the reacta gloss finish on my Phaze 5 although I thought the ball was a bit weaker than I had anticipated.  When the ball needed to be re-polished, I hit it with a 2000 pad and then used Powerhouse factory shine, to me, this was more like Storms old 1500 polish which I had always liked.

Just got an Exotic Gem, used it for 2 games with reacta gloss, it was weak and lazy (compared to what I expected), 2000 pad and Powerhouse shine and bam, the ball is what I expected, strong throughout the lane with a good motion of the end of the pattern.

Going forward, I won't throw a polished ball until I change the surface.
