CTD Life After Death
« on: May 25, 2022, 04:08:15 AM »
Anyone using LAD from CTD? I must admit, they seem to have too many products with old videos and less than clear product separation, but LAD has me intruigued. Interested in comments from any who have used it. Pricey stuff.....

Lefty,

I know this may not answer your question (I am intrigued by that product also vs So Fresh So Clean).  But I have messaged them a few times on their site and Dustin is usually pretty quick to respond (within 24 hours).  What it seems to me is that LAD is a more potent version of SFSC and Wow Factor is a more potent version of That Purple Stuff?

Steven, that is my assessment as well, and I sent a note to Dustin last night to confirm. However, I would be interested in hearing someone else say they like other than the company themselves... :)  I'm also interested in WOW HM, which seems to increase oil absorption for more hook. That should be a bad thing for ball longevity, shouldn't it?

You would think it would be a bad thing.  But it all goes back to how well you maintain your ball.  As an example; I have used my Scorpion exclusively since I bought it back in November.  A few weeks ago I realized that even though I freshen the surface every 6 games with their 2000 tru cut pad and use the Wow Factor every week; I was coming up on about 70-80 games.  So I gave it a hot water soak in the kitchen sink (basically just submerged it in hot water twice for about 10 minutes each time).  I did see a little bit of oily haze at the top of the water.  Ball still performs like it is brand new.  So I believe that as long as you are staying on top of maintaining the ball; then using the HM wont be an issue whatsoever.

By the way, Dustin's response when I sent the question about HM was "it's not going to change the amount of oil absorbed into the ball, just how fast it happens". I have more than 1 problem with that response, but too much to go into here. Just wanted to pass it along. All things considered, I'm going to try LAD first and see what I think after multiple uses.

So basically you would have to do an oil extraction more often as well which would lead to the purchase of their other products (Level Up and Clear).  Hickland is building a brand and somewhat a genius regarding the build.  He has set it up so that you use one set of products to lead into needing other products to keep your ball performing at its best. I asked Dustin a while back if they were going to release a compound to fit under the 5500 polish and he replied that was in the works.  I am hoping that is the case seeing a lot of balls are coming out now with compound as opposed to a high gloss factory finish.  But there is no denying that CTD products are very good and have been happy with the WOW Factor cleaner and 2000 tru cut pad.

I second thre motion on Tru Cut pads. Like them so far. Dustin also mentioned that CtD products are not at Nats booths, BUT are in the SP Pro Shop. I'll be grabbing some LAD there, hopefully with the free scrub pad that is sold on their website as a bundle. I know it's not absolutely required, but hey, I'll take it. I'll probably grab some WoW as well.
