I think the big thing is the products themselves aren't anything special, and Ron's marketing is loud, and is doing a good job of garnering attention as we are all in here talking about it.
I'm not a buyer of the CtD products, but I did get my hands on some of the True Cut pads. I haven't used them enough to wear them out, but they seem nice so far. The P500D is acts like a very worn 4000 abralon pad, but with a more consistent finish, which is something I do like and would recommend others to use in place of polish (polish is very fickle in nature, and hard to replicate).
Ron may be polarizing it seems, but he is making an effort to help others get better and i'll always respect that. The pay to be on staff thing is funny to me, but it's obviously working as i've been to quite a few tournaments and seen his cleaner and CtD shirts around.
