Not really. YOu really need to re-drill it to give it more backend or change your release a bit.
However if you haven''t touched the surface since you bought it, you might have developed a track or at least dulled the track area a bit. Plus it probably absorbed a bunch of oil.
I''d suggest
1. Sand it to 400 grit thoroughly to remove most of the track and have the oil extracted with a Revivor oven. Many pro shops have them.
2. Re-polish it with Brunswick''s High Gloss Factory Finish polish. It is usually applied over a 400 grit sanding. Put a decent polish on it without a ton of gloss. If you can''t get Brunswick''s Factory Finish polish, sand it to about 1000 or 1500 grit and put a light coat of a non-abrasive polish on it. That under-grit level should give you a decent amount of backend on medium-light to almost medium oil, the Smoking''s strength.
